Halfway

In our new backyard where ripe apples litter the green, dewy grass our little August runs wildly as my love takes photos of my growing belly in the afternoon sun. The halfway point on this magical journey has already come and gone. My first pregnancy yielded long, longing days and my heart was at exploding point with the mere thought of August's arrival. This time, my hands full with a boisterous toddler, time has slipped through my fingers and it dawns on me that we are already counting down until the next arrival. As I lay in bed at the end of the day, exhausted, my tiny unborn baby gently reminds me of its existence with tender kicks and hiccups tickling me from inside. I close my eyes, comforted by these beautiful movements and try to imagine a new, tiny face to love. The next months will go quickly as these last five already have and I hope that in the chaotic loveliness of our little family I will find the time to let this incredible change sink in and prepare myself, body and mind.

  1. You look so lovely. Exquisite. Almost fragile. Thank you for sharing such beautiful photos. And I'm really envious of your apple crop! :)
