Waiting

My boys are sleeping by my side. Rasmus breathes deeply drowning the sound of August's tiny panting. Both occasionally mumble or cry under their breath, a stray limb too shoots into the air as if trying to wake them from their peaceful slumber before slowly resting back to its place. I am all alone and I feel like a mama goddess keeping guard over her earthly blood, her kin. My stomach tingles with excitement at the thought that they will still be here when I wake from my dreams on a brand new day. But for now there is nothing but darkness and the steady pace of breathing keeping me company while I patiently wait for my eyes to grow heavy and for sleep to take me away, where I will join my two loves in the land of dreams.
